Agents, if you are responding to this switchboard thread, it means that you have successfully uploaded your gadget blueprint PDF to my top secret shared folder on the web. If this is correct then I commend you on a job well done. I will be consulting with Q about which designs to move to the production stage. Please respond here with your first name/last intial, gadget name, and a short description of why your design should be incorporated into the PACE Technology Agency Hall of Flame…

December Mission 2: Creative Common Download to iPhoto

Also include why you chose the photo of that particular mountain gorilla or tiger shark.

November Mission 4: Knowledge Challenge/Gadget Remark

After successfully completing the knowledge challenge for November, please leave a secret message here describing a secret agent gadget that you would like to invent and have the PTAL (PACE Technology Agency Labs) create for you.

I have asked our switchboard operator, the mysterious former agent known only as J, to provide an example of the gadget she used as a cadet. Here is her example gadget:

“My gadget is called the chokolaketer. It is a device that creates chocolate for you to eat while on special missions. It looks like a thumb drive so you can keep it in your pocket without the chocolate melting…AND nobody knows it is your secret chocolate stash. When you need some chocolate you press the lighted button on the top and a bite-size piece of chocolate is produced.”

After you leave your gadget comment here, I will know that you have completed the knowledge challenge and are ready to proceed with your next mission. We will be using your gadget ideas in future missions so give it some thought… Agent 66- Over, Under, and Out…

November Mission 3: Atomic Learning Video Title

After watching the Atomic Learning video on iTunes, you were supposed to watch another video (of your choice) on the Atomic Learning site about iTunes. Leave a comment here with the title of the video you found and a couple sentences describing what you learned. Remember to use your agent ID to sign off. Your agent id is always your first name with last initial only.

Example post:
Creating Playlists in iTunes- I watched an Atomic Learning video about creating playlists in iTunes. The video showed my the steps for creating a new list, naming the list, and adding songs to the list. Next I want to learn how to share my list with other agents!

November Mission 2: Leave Comment Here

Please leave a comment with the title of the volcano podcast that you chose. Also tell the rest of one or two things that you learned from watching the video podcast. Spelling and grammer counts on this response:)

October Mission 3: Read the Field Manual and Create Blog

Assignment #3:
Read The Text- Pages 18-92 on iTunes
Create a Blogger Blog Site

It’s time to start learning from our agent field manual, Jim Heid’s iLife ‘08 . I posted an earlier mission, before or transmissions were interrupted instructing you to begin the iTunes and iPod chapter. If you haven’t done so, I would like to you become an expert in iTunes. This material is explained in pages 18-92. Please begin to familiarize yourself with this material. I will be adding field tests, I think you call them quizzes, on this material. I will specify pages for these field tests before I launch a quiz so you will have advance notice. For now, go through the material and get comfortable with iTunes.

As agents, you will need your web space to communicate the adventures you have on these mini-missions. I have chosen Blogger, from Google, for you to create a blog where you can upload text, images, and pictures. Please visit Blogger and create your own blogging platform. The directions are fairly straightforward when you get to the site. First, you will need to create a Google account. Then you will need to name your blog. Please use your first name and last initial, followed by an dash, and iLife08 as the name for your blog. An example would be tonyb-iLife08.That naming scheme should be available to all students. The web address for that will end up as tonyb-iLife08.blogger.com

Once you set up your blog, explore all of the options in Blogger. You will find a settings tab. Under the settings tab, you can choose who can view and contribute to your blog. At this time, under Blog Authors, I want you to add my Gmail address, which is baylinson@gmail.com. Under Blog Readers, I want you to choose the option “only people I choose” and don’t add anyone yet (unless your parents would like access). We will add classmates manually to this area Readers area You can set up a custom look and feel using templates. Have fun with it but remember these rules (even though I will be the only viewer to begin with):

1. No personal information
2. No personal pictures
3. Everything in your post must be G-Rated!
4. This blog will be used for the class only.
5. Alert both myself, Agent 66, and your parents immediately if you get a comment that is inappropriate or from anyone that you don’t know. That means there has been a security breach.
6. Don’t share your account info or password with anyone except your parents.

To let Agent 66 know that you have posted your blog, please post your your blog link in the comments on the switchboard for this mission. A sample comment might be:

Tony B’s new blog address can be found at: http://tonyb_iLife08.blogger.com

Once this mission is completed, we can begin the process building your agent portfolio on blogger. Once I have all of your blog addresses, I can add the to the links on this site and we can communicate with text, pictures, and video. Remember, this blog is for posting class assignments and no personal interactions or information are permitted.

Assignment in short:
#1: Read the assigned pages.
#2: Create your Blogger page.
#3: Leave a post on the Switchboard under mission #3 with your new blog web address.

Leave your site link by clicking on comments under the title of this post at the top of this mission.
